A semi-truck flew off a highway overpass near Allen, Texas onto the street below, in a fiery crash that left its driver dead on Tuesday, WFAA reported.

The truck was traveling north on I-75 at Stacy Road near the Allen Outlets mall when it collided with another moving vehicle. Dashcam footage captured by a driver and shared with WFAA at the intersection below I-75 near where the truck landed shows the truck engulfed in flames as it falls upside down from the highway onto the street below.

The truck's driver, who was a United States Postal Service worker transporting a truck full of mail and packages, was pronounced dead at the scene. Another USPS employee was on the scene alongside investigators and first responders, snapping photos of the wreckage, footage captured by WFAA shows.

Bystanders told KHOU's Matt Howerton that they tried to save the driver after the truck hit the ground, but the heat from the fire made it impossible for them to approach.

According to WFAA, investigators are trying to figure out the nature of the collision that preceded the truck's fiery plunge. Allen PD told KHOU that the driver of the car involved in the collision is cooperating with their investigation.

The crash caused extended delays on I-75 Northbound in the Dallas-Fort Worth area near Allen for hours. Investigators are asking for any eyewitnesses to call 214-509-4288 as they continue to look into the crash.
